Guwahati, February 14, 2020:

Swaraj Party leader Yogendra Yadav on Friday “saluted” the youths of the Northeast Indian youths for standing their ground against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act despite the best efforts by the Central Government in Delhi to silence the protesters.

Addressing the media here today, Yadav said, “As long as religion is being used as a means to decide citizenship, I will continue to oppose it, and every Indian should oppose it…”

It may be mentioned here that Yadav came to Guwahati under the banner of ‘We the People of India’, an umbrella organization that unites the anti-CAA protests under a single banner. Meanwhile, Yadav has also opined that the andolan in Assam and the rest of the country will now be held in sync.

Yadav also said that the arrest of prominent RTI activist Akhil Gogoi . Yadav also said that there is no evidence to suggest that Akhil has ever done anything ” Now Akhil Gogoi will become an akhil bharat (united India) leader”, Yadav proclaimed.

Talking exclusively to Inside Northeast, Yadav said, “To the youths of Northeast, I want to salute you….you were the first to bring the dangers of the CAA to notice”, adding that people from all over Northeast stood in solidarity with those who were not exempted from the legislation’s purview and spread the message of unity that symbolizes the entire movement.
