Mumbai, February 4, 2020:
Bringing out her inner girl-next-door, Bollywood queen Katrina Kaif was seen sweeping the floor with the most trusted (and deadly) tool of any Indian housewife, the jhadu (or “broom” for the English aficionados) on the set of her upcoming movie, Sooryavanshi.

The video, posted on social media by co-star Akshay Kumar, has since gone viral. In the video, Akshay asks Katrina what she is doing, to which she replies “saaf-safaai” (cleaning). Then, Akshay goes on to jest that she is hitting him with the broom, which is often used as a weapon by Bollywood actresses to hit their heroes on reel.
On Facebook alone, the video, which Akki shared on Monday, has been ‘liked’ over 45,000 times and shared 1,000+ times.
Akshay posted the video along with the caption, “: The newest Swachh Bharat brand ambassador on the sets of Sooryavanshi.”
Netizens, meanwhile, seem to be having mixed reactions after seeing Katrina in this brand-new avatar. “Why the wonder? Every woman’s duty is to clean the premises, then the environment would be great!” wrote one user, while another said, “But the room is already clean…..what Katrina is cleaning I don’t know….”
Another user felt that Akshay was posting the video in a bid to garner more goodwill for the Aam Aadmi Party ahead of the Delhi polls on February 8. “Akshay is on delhi side and promoting to vote for aam aadmi party by engaging jhaadu work for katrina kaif”, the user said.
Sooryavanshi is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by him and Karan Johar under their banners Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions respectively, in association with Reliance Entertainment and Cape Of Good Films.
