In a notification, the government, through the Directorate of Family Welfare & Health, Kohima, stated, “In view of the outbreak of 2019nCoV (Corona Virus), all the RRTs are informed to be on alert as it has already spread to many countries including Nepal and is of public health concern.”
It further stated, “…you are requested to ensure adequate readiness for immediate detection, intervention and mitigation as and when the need arise.”
It may be mentioned here that the Nagaland Health Mission (NHM) has issued another notification to the hospitals, requesting to ensure adequate readiness for immediate detection of Coronavirus, intervention and mitigation.
The Nagaland government has appealed the residents of the state to take precautions in order to avoid getting infected with the disease.
The Coronavirus or 2019-nCoV is a new form of a virus that emerged from a seafood and animal market in the central city of Wuhan in China. So far, 106 people have died due to Coronavirus and as many as 4515 cases have been reported.
