Currently in Goa after yesterday’s refreshing private event held by HDFC Bank, Papon is heading back to Mumbai to spend his special day with his near and dear ones.
Keeping it simple, the crooner is reportedly planning to be with his family this evening for his birthday, unless there’s an event to attend and as usual the Paponist’s are celebrating his 44th birthday in Dighali Pukhuri park in Guwahati city, today.
Now, let’s take a look back at the legacy of Papon, who has arguably inspired an entire generation of musicians in Assam and across the globe whose genes flow through cultural mainstream.
Being the son of the renowned musician Late Khagen Mahanta, Papon is definitely making his father proud, as he has taken Assamese folk music, to the national stage. Moreover, the success that he has achieved in mainstream Bollywood music, is unprecedented for a musician hailing from Assam. His ability to break the barriers and bring the global community under the common umbrella of music is second of none.
Team Inside Northeast wishes the popular Assamese folk fusion singer a very happy 44th birthday. Many his melodies touch many more hearts in the years to come.
