Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent out a message on “peace and unity” on the day the Supreme Court bench comprising five Judges will give a verdict on the disputed land in Ayodhya.

In his appeal to the nation sent out via Twitter, the Prime Minister said, “The Supreme Court’s verdict (on Ayodhya) will be out today. For the last few months, hearings have been going on in regards to this matter, and the eyes of the nation are glued. It is integral to establish goodwill among all sections of society at a time like this and the efforts are commendable”.
In another tweet, he said that the people and organizations have co-operated with the law-and-order personnel, and added that even after the verdict is announced, maintenance of law-and-order is paramount and a “cordial” atmosphere must be maintained.
The Prime Minister further added that whatever the verdict, it is not a matter of “win or lose” and appealed to the nation to ensure that the verdict will only make India more united, peaceful, and increase the overall goodwill among the people.
