South Korean DJ Soda, who had come to Imphal, Manipur, truly left a mark on the people of Manipur during her story stay in the State. The artiste took part in many programmes before ultimately headlining the first-of-its-kind Ultra EDM Manipur, 2019.

The Korean DJ, who is one among few women in the male-dominated industry, soaked in the cultural flavors of the Northeast Indian state of Manipur, and even took part in a tree plantation programme that was organized by the Government.

Clad in traditional Manipuri attire, the South Korean DJ also interacted with locals and danced in the traditional style. During times of strife and uncertainty, the DJ was the centre of attraction during her stay, and locals avowed that she brought a lot of happiness to the lives of the people.

On the day of the festival, draped in traditional attire, the South Korean DJ greeted the people of Manipur in her native tongue (‘Annyeong Haseyo’ or ‘hello’). Soon, she started belting out the music and the people who had gathered at the venue for a good time, soon went wild. In the midst of strife and political disturbances in the State, as well as the entire Northeast, this event acted as a reprieve and DJ Soda, with her powerful music and colorful personality, certainly brought in the festive mood to the Northeast

DJ Soda, whose real name is Hwang So-hee, rose to fame from South Korean music scene after she took up the male-dominated DJ-ing profession as a full-timer in 2014.
