The former bodyguard, identified as Anaz Qureshi, had to be overpowered using ropes and fishing net in order to take him into police custody.
Local residents were shocked and frightened to see a bare-chested Qureshi roughing up pedestrians and hurling bricks at the vehicles.
He also vandalized several cars parked on the stretch with an iron rod.
The video of the bodyguard going outrageous went viral on social media.
Reportedly, Qureshi overdosed steroids and lost his mind as a side-effect. He was then taken to the district hospital and later referred to Bareilly Mental Hospital.
He is currently deployed in the security of a Minister in Maharashtra.
Moreover, two days before the incident, he had participated in Mr. Moradabad Championship and was declared the first runner-up.
Qureshi has been earlier named in a rape case in 2017 and was sent to jail. Later he was out on bail, said reports.
