Rashtriya Samaj Paksha founder and Cabinet minister Mahadev Jankar has confirmed that the Bollywood superstar is scheduled to join his party on September 25.

It may be mentioned here that in 2009, Dutt was an SP candidate for the Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency, however, he had to withdraw his name after the Mumbai court refused to suspend his conviction under the Arms Act.

The actor was later appointed as the general secretary of the party, but he stepped down a few months later.

The RSP, which Dutt is all set to join, represents Dhangar or the Shepherd community, and they have been seeking ST status for the community.
