The 14 police officers were booked under Section 120B (criminal conspiracy), 379 (theft), 466 (forgery of record or public documents), 204 (destruction of documents or electronic records to prevent production as evidence), 205 (false personation for purpose of act or proceeding in suit or prosecution) and 217 (public-serving disobeying direction of law with intention to save person from punishment or property from forfeiture) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)
