The Manipur Board has declared the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exam. The provisional certificates-cum-mark sheets will be issued to the respective candidates from May 21 onwards.

To their credit, the students of Manipur have shone brightly this time and performed well in comparison to last year.
Out of 37,358 enrolled candidates, 37,138 appeared. 14,423 candidates secured the first division, while 12,746 students secured the second division. Only 571 students secured the third division marks. A total of 27,740 students passed the exam. The pass percentage is 74.69% this time, a marked improvement from last year’s performance when 73.18% cleared the exams.
Males fared slightly better than females as 78.93% boys cleared the exam as compared to 76.54% girls.
Private school students fared much better than Government schools (82.30% passed students against 53.77% in Government schools).
Candidates from 4,686 government schools, 1039 aided schools, and 22,015 private schools appeared for the examinations.
It may be mentioned that a total of 37, 064 students including 18,637 male and 18,427 female students, appeared in the HSLC examination 2018 and and the total number of passed candidates is 27,126 at 73.18 percent which was the second highest in ten years comparison.
This year, though, the students have performed even better than last year.
Sophiya Asem from Bright Career Academy and Arvind Maibam from Tiny Tots’ Unique School, Imphal have jointly secured the second position with 567 marks. Moirangthem Julendia Devi from St. Thomas School, Kontha Ahallup has secured the third position.
