The festival was inaugurated by Phungyar AC, MLA K Leishiyo.

The residents of Nambashi Khullen, Nambshi Khunou, Nambashi Valley and Kashung Village among others took part in the festival.

Attending the event, Rev MC Huiningam, a local leader mentioned that the restriction imposed by evangelist and missionaries, who came to spread Christianity, on following several customs as “sin” has resulted in the disappearances of many cultures.

Further, Huiningam said that such imposition cannot be seen in the neighboring states like Mizoram and Meghalaya. He also appealed all to support in reviving the lost culture and tradition of many tribes of the State.
