Aziz, who was a student of Pipirakuchi Anchalik High Madrassa, secured 553 marks and was superseded by only Selim Ahmed of Goalpara, who secured 561 marks.
At a time when parents are leaving no stone stone unturned to ensure their wards’ good performance in exams with round-the-clock tuitions and the load of many heavy books and practice papers, Aziz’s performance proves that raw determination can overcome any obstacle, including financial constraints, which can be one of the hardest deficits to deal with the the expensive world of modern education.
Aziz belongs to Athkuriapara village in Sipajhar in the Darrang district of Assam and he belongs to a financially weak family. In the highly backward village located in one of the remotest villages of Assam, agriculture is the chief source of income. But it is a well-known fact that the farming community is ailing in the country due to many obstacles and the inability to deal with debt has led to mass farmer suicides in many parts of the country.
The poor village where Aziz resides it is still waiting for proper education facilities, drinking water, road connectivity and electricity due to which many of the villagers are languishing in poverty. Also, medical and health services are next to nil in the village and sick villagers have to travel far in order to seek medical treatment.
Due to the obstacle of poverty, Aziz’s family could not even afford a tuition for the precocious young talent which in all likelihood hampered his performance, but he was able to overcome this obstacle through sheer determination and long hours of self-study.
This performance proves that Aziz is headed for great things in life. More power to this young shining star in the field of academics!
