Guwahati, May 7, 2019:
Teen cricketing sensation Riyan Parag who recently became the youngest to score an IPL 50 is back in his hometown Guwahati after thrilling sports lovers of the nation with his exploits with both bat and ball.
Although Parag’s IPL dream came to a premature end after they were eliminated in the first round, Parag has been widely hailed as one of the brightest cricketing talents in the country.
Addressing the media in Guwahati on Tuesday, Parag shared his experiences of participating in his first IPL tournament.
Talking about his Bihu ‘dance’ after grabbing a wicket, Parag said “Dwayne Bravo did it. So why not? We have something so beautiful to showcase…our traditional Assamese culture because IPL is held on an international level..”
He further revealed that he has danced professionally (including Bihu) until he was in the 7th standard.
Knowingly or unknowingly, Parag has become the unofficial mascot of the Assamese culture in the world-stage.
