The LDSU stated that a major stretch of the under-construction Trans-Arunachal Highway 52B has become too muddy and slippery for any vehicular movement to take place due to incessant rains.

The Union complained that the concerned department is doing nothing to resolve the issue.
The student body also informed that the recent rainfalls have caused flash floods which have washed out all the temporary bridges over streams and rivers along NH 52B.

The LDSU also stated that the people of the whole district now have to rely on the lone Longding – Bimlapur (LB) road for transportation.

The road, which is a lifeline for the whole district is also in a dilapidated condition with multiple pits and potholes along the way,’ stated the union.

“People with medical issues, students studying outside the districts and officials on regular tour are facing major problems because of such bumpy roads”, added the union while stating that economic blockade type situation may arise if the department continues to ignore repair and maintenance works on the said road.
