Kokrajhar, March 31, 2019:
The ABSU along with other groups paid their tribute at the tomb of Upendra Nath Brahma, erstwhile leader of ABSU, at Kokrajhar on the occasion of his birth ceremony on 31 March. Many dignitaries such as ABSU President Pramod Boro and United Peoples’ Party Liberal (UPPL) candidate from Kokrajhar Constituency and former MLA Urkhao Gwra Brahma. were present.
ABSU President Pramod Bodo launched into a tirade against BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary and the BPF party who will be fielding Minister Pramila Rani Brahma from Kokrajhar at the venue. “The ABSU has participated in this election and there is nothing wrong with it as we live in a democratic country. The allegations against me and the ABSU are baseless. Especially, the BTC Chief (Hagrama Mohilary) is saying some unfortunate things. We cannot build a society with this sort of arrogance. Politics is not a policy less thing, and the BTC leaders are ruling without a policy.”
“On the day of Bodofa’s birth anniversary, we implore him (Mohilary) not to be so dejected, nervous, angry and arrogant because no politician has ruled with this sort of arrogance. If his behavior does not change, we will have to seek other options”, he added.
Bodo also reiterated support for the UPPL candidate. “We are supporting UPPL and putting our support behind the corruption-free intellectual candidate Urkhao Gwra Brahma. He has stood for the people at times of need and has adopted the Gandhian philosophy of ahimsa”, he added.
