Kochi, February 28, 2019:
The boys of the North East United FC were held to a goalless draw by Kerala Blasters FC on Friday. The Kerela Blasters FC, who have already been eliminated from the competition, were playing for pride in their last match in this year’s edition of the Indian Super League (ISL).
The Highlanders fielded a weakened team in the low-stakes match as they have already qualified for the play-offs for the first time. The airtight defense of the Kerala boys proved hard to breach as the Northeast team had to settle for a draw after a hard fought 90 minutes. It is to be mentioned that NEUFC were reduced to 10-men only 23 minutes into the contest as G.Singh was handed a red card by the referee.
