The Mizoram celebrated 33rd Statehood day today.
Mizoram was declared Union Territory in 1972 and in 1986 became a full- fledged federal state of Indian Union in 1986.
The Mizo National Front was outlawed in 1967 and the demand for statehood increased. The people of Mizoram are known for their valour and rich value system. The entire nation is proud of the Mizo culture and the contribution of the state towards India’s progress.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of Mizoram in a post through his twitter: “my greetings to the people of Mizoram, I pray that Mizoram progresses immensely in the years to come.”
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh twitted: “My greetings to the people of Mizoram on the ‘Statehood Day’. I Pray for the continuous progress on the state.”
