A team of the GRPF on Tuesday seized a huge amount of Ganja (Cannabis) during a search operation on the 20501 Agartala – Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express.

The seized ganja weighing 70 kgs were concealed in 14 packets.
The GRPF apprehended four individuals identified as Sumit Mishra, Md. Prabir Alam, Md. Ashraful Alam and Rushi Begum in relation to the case.

According to official sources, Sumit Mishra was traveling in CRPF uniform and carried a trunk with him where the ganja was found. Rushi Begum carried a 5 years old child with her depicting as a family. The officials claimed that this is a new strategy used by the drug peddlers to carry out such drug smuggling activities in and around the country and skip from the search operators.

The Guwahati GRPS has registered a case no. 35/19 U/S 20{C}/29 under NDPS Act.
