A team of Moreh Civil Defence Organization, 8th IR (CDO) Batallion and Tengnoupal police on Monday raided Hotel Yaiphabi at Moreh near the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur and seized a huge amount of illegal contraband drugs.

The team apprehended two individuals identified as Thokchom Bikram Singh and Ahongsangbam Naocha Meetei.
According to official sources, the contraband drugs were inserted in seven plastic soap caps hidden inside three LED Flood Lights and a mobile speaker system. The plastic caps were found to contain suspected heroin powder weighing around 88.3 grams worth Rs 8.83 lakh.
The accused have been handed over to Moreh police along with the seized heroin powder.
