Guwahati, January 11, 2019:
Observing a 12 hour bandh by Coordination Committee of the Tribal Organizations of Assam (CCTOA) supporters of the bandh took to the streets to protest against the amendment of the Constitutional (Scheduled Tribes) Amendment Bill, 2019.
The bandh has been observing mixed response all over the state. The tribal populated areas have most importantly observed the 12 hour bandh.
Reports of violence came in from number of places with tyres being burnt and a number of vehicles damaged.

Other places includes Morigoan, Orang, Routa, Kolaigoan, Nagoan were most affected by the bandh as normal life was hit with people and vehicles hardly seen in public areas. Meanwhile Guwahati did not really adhere to the bandh as commercial places and vehicles were fully operational throughout the city
