Bandh supporters

Guwahati, January 8, 2019:

The Bharatiya Janata Party office has been vandalised at Golaghat on Tuesday by the bandh supporters who have been protesting against the amendment of proposed controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The frustrated protestors have even burned down former Prime Minister Atal Vihari Vajpayee’s photo along with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and other leaders of the BJP. Thi act is bound to send out a clear message to the Saffronians- that nothing comes in between Jaati, Maati and Bheti for the Axomiya people.

After the declaration made by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday to pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016; the entire state is witnessing a situation of unrest.
It may be mentioned that All Assam Students’ Union and NESO along with support from the AGP, KMSS, Congress and 33 other organisations have called for 12 hours North East bandh in opposition to the Citizenship Bill.
