Bogibeel in Assam is India’s longest rail-road bridge, connecting the north and south banks of the Brahmaputra. The bridge is about 4.94 km long.

It has been rumoured that the much awaited bridge will be named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

However, the Chutia community in Assam has urged the government to rename the bridge as Sati Sadhani while, the Ahom community has urged to name the bridge after Chaolung Sukapha.

It may be mentioned that test run of various trains have already been completed over the bridge.
