At least three militants belonging to the NSCN-K and ULFA-I have been suspected to be killed during a fierce gun battle that took place in Nagaland’s Mon district on Tuesday night.

It has been reported that the gun battle started early in the morning and continued till the evening. During the encounter, two Army jawans were reportedly injured while three militants have been suspected to be killed.

The injured soldiers have been taken to Dimapur for better medical assistance.

It may be mentioned that over the past few days, the Army and police are actively searching for militants in the areas. This encounter was among one of the ongoing operations against the militants.

However, the Army or police are yet to issue an official statement on the encounter.
