Guwahati, November 18, 2018:
The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) took out a rally in Agartala protesting against the vandalizing of CPI-M MLA Narayan Choudhury’s vehicle and disrupting a meeting of former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar by suspected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters.
The protest rally was taken out after BJP supporters allegedly encircled a meeting that was being addressed by Manik Sarkar at the Bishalgarh CPI-M office.
It may be mentioned that it was alleged that BJP supporters tried to prevent people from attending the meeting while many participants were attacked on while returning back.
The second incident took place at Gokul Nagar Rastarmatha where a vehicle of CPI-M MLA was vandalised.
The CPI-M also alleged that several Zilla Parishad members were also attacked.
