Hailakandi, October 9, 2018:
The second round of Gunotsav, a school assessment programme, has begun in Cachar district from today. The programme will conclude on Thursday.
Besides Cachar, the programme is being conducted in 15 other districts of the state.
The assessment is held among students from Class II to Class VIII. Officials from Hailakandi and Karimganj districts are taking part in the assessment programme in Cachar district as external evaluators.
Taking part in Gunotsav Round II as external evaluator, District Development Commissioner, Hailakandi, FR Laskar visited the Donarpar LP School at Katigorah in Cachar district and took stock of internal evaluation done by the teachers and inspected the infrastructure as well as cleanliness of the school.
Interacting with the teachers and students of the school, Laskar, said, “Gunotsav has generated positive academic environment in the elementary education firmament in the state and has helped change the mindset of the teachers.”
Conceptualized in 2017, Gunotsav aims at improving the quality of education through scholastic, co-scholastic, community participation and infrastructure development. Based on these four broad parameters, grading is given to schools such as A, A plus, B, C and D.
Inspector of Schools, Hailakandi, Rajiv Kumar Jha said judging on the grading system, the policy planners in Dispur make necessary strategic interventions to set things right vis-a-vis to induce learning outcomes to the desired level.
