Addressing a massive rally in Ompinagar in Tripura, Assam Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary said that the Left Front government has ruined the life of the common people of the state. While campaigning for Indigenous Peoples’ Front of Tripura Sindhu Chandra Jamatia, Mr Daimary said that workers in Tripura get wages according to the 4th pay commission whereas the BJP-led government in Assam has already implemented the 7th pay commission. He also stated that primary school teachers in Tripura get a salary of Rupees 15,000 per month but if the 7th pay commission is implemented than the salary will be hiked to Rupees 30000 per month. Civil service officers in Tripura get a salary of Rupees 40000 per month whereas in Assam, civil service officers get Rupees 80,000 per month. The central government has taken the initiative to set up primary school, high school and colleges in every nook and corner of the country but the Left Front government never followed it as they does not want the people of Tripura to be educated. He also said that the government in Assam has distributed free scooty to girls but in Tripura women are subjected to torture. Mr Daimary also lamented that the CPI(M) never addressed the developmental issues in the assembly.
